The Borrona trekking route crosses the wildest area of the island, the high rock walls of Comendite (a particular and rare volcanic rock named after a locality in San Pietro Island where it was first identified) that are home to a colony of the Herring-Gull and the European Shag in winter and spring, whereas in summer until October they host the second largest colony of Eleonora’s Falcon in the Mediterranean sea. You will come across the highest cliffs of the island, immersed in an uncontaminated environment and also visit a narrow joint hidden by vegetation. It’s a difficult hike on steep terrain which is unsuitable for those who suffer from dizziness, and it requires the ability to know how to move on the rocks.
