mount arcuentu

The crossing of Mount Arcuentu (Arbus) and its northern ridge is one of the most suggestive treks in Sardinia; you walk on carved and rugged volcanic rocks walking along a labyrinthine and never banal path. Those who follow this itinerary for the first time are amazed by the beauty of the landscape and the panorama especially by the varied shapes of volcanic rocks including a system of surprising parallel dykes (high rocky walls that derive from the cooling of lava inside fault lines and the subsequent selective erosion) as well as by the silhouette of Mount Arcuentu that recalls the profile of Napoleon Bonaparte.
